Brief Personal Statement
As a psychologist, I am passionate about helping people invest in their emotional health and seeing them reap the rewards from their investment. For me, this means helping clients find relief from distress while also facilitating them in gaining a deeper understanding of themselves in the process. Too many of us are weighed down by our burdens, preventing us from living life in a purposeful and meaningful way. I see therapy as an opportunity to help clients not only cope with, but free themselves from, these burdens by gaining insight into their behaviour and reactions, and with that, the power to make important and lasting changes in their lives. I feel privileged to be able to help clients work towards this freedom, and have great respect for each individual’s unique process in getting there.

Practice Information
I provide therapy for individual adults and couples. Psychological assessments are also conducted as required, to inform treatment. I first meet with clients for an initial consultation. This is an opportunity for me to get an overview of the issues concerning the client, and for the client and I to determine whether or not we are a good fit. At the end of the consultation, I present the client with my recommendations for treatment and solicit their feedback.

Therapeutic Approach: My therapeutic approach with individuals is best described as integrative, drawing on my experience practicing different models of therapy including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I tailor my therapeutic approach to the needs of each client, incorporating elements of these different models as appropriate. My approach with couples is informed by Emotion Focused, Systemic and Psychodynamic models.
