Upcoming Workshops

We all have a story.

Some parts of our story bring joy, other parts are associated with pain or suffering. Our stories often center around needs being sufficiently met (the pleasurable parts) versus inadequately met (the painful parts; also known as losses).

These needs can include our needs for love, acceptance, validation, trust, connection, stability, and both psychological and physical safety.

Our stories shape who we are, and how we understand, feel about, and interact with ourselves, others, and the world. Our stories influence the beliefs we develop.

Some aspects of our story are in our control, while others simply happen to us, completely outside of our choosing. As we live our lives, our stories evolve. Hopefully, we evolve along with them, but sometimes we get stuck and need help to get unstuck, grow and thrive.

As a psychologist, I have the honour and privilege of creating a safe space for people to share their stories with me.

I work together with clients to help them connect inward, work through stuck points and create meaningful changes that improve their lives.

Working with a psychologist is a collaborative process that is most effective when the client’s story is explored from a lens of curiosity or, “not knowing”.

Being curious facilitates an openness and connectedness to ourselves, others and our environment. When we connect with our intention(s) for ourselves we gain the power to transform our story.

“Letting there be room for not knowing is the most important thing of all. When there's a big disappointment, we don't know if that's the end of the story. It may just be the beginning of a great adventure. Life is like that. We don't know anything. We call something bad; we call it good. But really we just don't know.”
